Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Deborah Jean Suer (aka Debbie) was born in Rockville Center, New York January 6, 1954. She grew up in Seaford, New York (Nassau County, Long Island) to Ruth and Anthony Pilato. The oldest of 4 siblings, Patricia, Richard, and Ronald, Debbie attended Island Trees High School. She later attended Travel School to work as a Travel Agent in New York City and Long Island from 1976 – 1984. She met Marty Suer during those years, and they married in 1990 after driving across county to live in Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley, California. She moved to the Coachella Valley Desert region in 1992, and felt lucky to work remotely from her beautiful new home in Bermuda Dunes.
Her work life included Debbie’s Family Child Care, Desert Dream Dogs (hot dog stand inspired by her time in NYC), and training to be a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the State of California. She was a wellknown businesswoman throughout the Coachella Valley
In 2002 after many years of preparing, she and Marty adopted their daughter Destiny through the County of Riverside. Then in 2005 they adopted their daughter Deandra, Destiny’s biological half-sister. Both girls grew up in a loving household surrounded by children and love.
She graduated from the College of the Desert (COD) in 2012 Summa Cum Laude and was the graduating class speaker. While at COD she received numerous awards and honors.
In 2013 she focused on full-time caregiving for her husband Marty who suffered from Parkinson’s Disease, and passed away in 2016. Then, from 2016-17 she focused on full-time caregiving for her father who suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease, all while being a mother of two young daughters. She was a loving caregiver to many.
She was well-loved and her unexpected passing is a tremendous loss to her family and community.
